Get Involved… Be involved
This was my engagement strap line, when leading teams. Involvement is my term for engagement and it seems to be easier for people to identify with.
Having an engaged team gave me the ‘people advantage’ to offer customers great service, lead on productivity, raise commercial performance and see it reflected significantly in profit performance. All happening, whilst having a positive workplace atmosphere with a ‘can do’ team
But whilst it’s easy to say “Get involved, Be involved”, unfortunately, it doesn’t mean it will just happen.
Without an engagement plan, development of employee interest may be limited and no matter how engaging you are personally as a leader, you may well be depending on others to reach your message to their workforce. A strategy with clearly identifiable steps will help leaders and their teams understand expectations and provide some structure for ‘how’ to get involved and build their engagement in business success.
My photo shows a summary of focus points I prepared earlier
Without going into the full detail** Making employee involvement a clear focus will lever your “people advantage’ and being blunt, deliver more return from your payroll bill
** If you would like the detail and sight of timeline gantt charts, etc - just drop me a message as I would be happy to share if it will help you build a “great place to work’
