Plan personal development with business goals

Sean Fitzgerald

Updated: May 30, 2024

‘What have I done?’ or ‘What am I going to do?’

Both questions that can be used when reviewing personal development. For me, the latter question will support moving forward more effectively.

Getting clear on what you are going to do and a focus on future trajectory is a great start.

Aligning this with business goals and identifying opportunities for different approaches and personal stretch will really support increasing skills and capability.

So, with a pro-active future focus, aligning personal development with business objectives, how about considering a ‘personal development road trip’?

What would you want to experience? What do you want to build and develop?

Look at your business plan / calendar and identify where are the growth opportunities?

What will you do differently and when will you make it happen? How will you recognise the changes you are making?

Oh, and don’t forget to celebrate your successes

So, good luck with your road trip
